Bee Attacks Claim Four Lives in Durgapur Over Five Years
Imagine bees getting angry and swarming someone.
This has happened a few times in a town called Durgapur.
Recently, a kind old teacher named Nirmal was taking his son to school when bees attacked.
He got stung so many times, especially around his face and neck.
His body had too much bee poison, and his heart couldn't handle it, so he sadly passed away.
This is the fourth person to die from bee stings in Durgapur in the last five years.
Other people have also been stung badly, but they survived.
Doctors say the bee sting poison can cause a very bad reaction that is hard to overcome.
A retired teacher, Nirmal Dutta, died yesterday from a bee attack in Durgapur, bringing the total fatalities to four in five years.
Dutta suffered a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) after being stung by a swarm, leading to a fatal heart attack.
Doctors removed 890 bee stings from Dutta's mouth, throat, and neck.
Previous fatal incidents in Durgapur include a two-year-old girl in September last year and two men in October 2021, all due to bee swarm attacks.
Another individual, Oliv Kushari, survived a swarm attack last October after 90 stings were removed from her face and neck.
