Flipkart Approved for India Domicile Shift
Flipkart, a big online shopping company, has gotten permission from a court in India to move its main office back from Singapore to India.
This is part of their plan to get ready for a big event where they sell parts of their company to the public, called an IPO.
The court said yes to combining some of Flipkart's companies in Singapore with their main company in India.
They still need to finish some legal steps to make this happen.
Flipkart has been doing well financially, with more money coming in and fewer losses compared to last year.
Many big companies own parts of Flipkart, like Walmart, Google, and SoftBank.
Flipkart received in-principle approval from NCLT to shift its domicile from Singapore to India.
The approval is part of Flipkart's preparation for a potential domestic IPO.
The process involves a phased consolidation of overseas entities into Flipkart Internet, the Bengaluru-based operating entity.
Flipkart's marketplace arm crossed INR 20,000 Cr in revenue for FY25, with net losses declining by 37% compared to FY24.
Major shareholders include Walmart, Google, SoftBank, Qatar Investment Authority, Microsoft, and Tencent.
