Karnataka Assembly Passes Three Bills Amid Opposition Protests

Karnataka’s Assembly approved three new Bills.

BJP and JD(S) members protested while the Bills were being passed.

They wanted Minister N Nagendra to resign because of corruption allegations.

One Bill lowers fees for people trying to make property documents legal in some BDA areas.

The government said about 1,11,560 houses could benefit.

Another Bill changes who can help lead a heritage authority connected with Nadaprabhu Kempegowda.

The third Bill creates penalties for developers who do not finish approved layouts.

The Assembly also gave the BDA Commissioner more authority to approve some works.
