Empty plot owners given August 15 deadline to clean premises

Empty plot owners given August 15 deadline to clean premises

A city called Bengaluru has many empty pieces of land with no buildings on them.

The city government wants owners to keep these empty plots clean.

Owners must clean their land by August 15, otherwise city workers will do it for them.

If the city cleans the land, the owner will have to pay for it.

Cleaning a small plot can cost about 26,000 rupees.

This is part of a special campaign called the 'Waste-Free Independence Campaign.'

The rules come from the city's waste management bye-laws.

Owners can drop waste at five special places chosen by the city.

They can also hire cleaners approved by the city.

The charges cover cleaning and taking the waste away.
