Punjab Minister Accuses Opposition of Exploiting Sangrur Poisoning Case

Jagseer Singh, also known as Jagga, became seriously ill after allegedly drinking poison outside a government office in Sangrur.

He had complained about alleged drug sales in his village.

He was taken to hospitals in Sangrur and Patiala.

Punjab Minister Aman Arora said opposition parties were using the incident to attack the Aam Aadmi Party government.

He said they were presenting Jagga as a person fighting drugs without mentioning his police record.

Police said Jagga has nine FIRs involving several types of allegations.

Police also said four of those cases ended in convictions and others are still in court.

The police investigation into the incident is continuing.

The minister said the opposition should apologize for what he called dirty politics.
