TGSRTC Holds First Union Elections in a Decade

TGSRTC Holds First Union Elections in a Decade

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation is holding union elections after ten years without them.

Nearly 39,000 workers can vote.

They will choose one union to represent them across the state and another for their region.

Twelve unions are running in three main groups.

Workers want changes to pay, benefits, and how their jobs are managed.

They also want better medical care and overdue payments to be addressed.

Some unions want the corporation to buy newer buses, build more depots, and hire more workers.

The elections will help workers choose who speaks for them.
