Kanpur Plane Crash Probe Finds Flight Monitoring Gaps

Kanpur Plane Crash Probe Finds Flight Monitoring Gaps

A training airplane crashed near Kanpur on August 27.

Two people were aboard, and both died.

The plane was practicing emergency procedures when it crashed.

It made one normal radio call but did not send a distress message.

Investigators found that the flying school did not properly keep records of the plane’s flight-data checks.

The plane had Garmin equipment that recorded some flight information, but it had no voice recorder or digital flight-data recorder.

Investigators are studying the engines, weather, wreckage, and recovered data.

They have not yet said what caused the crash.
