Nepal Floods Cancel Kailash Trips, Everest Treks Continue

Serious floods and mudslides hit Nepal’s Rasuwa district.

Many people have died or are missing, according to the report.

The disaster damaged roads and communications on a route used by people traveling to Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet.

China temporarily stopped issuing permits for that journey.

Some tour companies cancelled their trips and began refunding customers.

Future Kailash trips have not been confirmed.

Treks to Mount Everest Base Camp are still taking place because that area was not affected.

The Everest trek usually takes about two weeks and requires months of preparation.
