Gujarat Man Confesses to Three Murders After Reporting One
Police in Gujarat are investigating three alleged murders from 2022.
A man named Madhavdas Sadhu first told police that his grandmother-in-law had been killed by other people.
Police questioned the person he accused, who denied knowing about the killing.
Madhavdas then reportedly admitted that he and his wife, Urmila, killed the woman.
Police say the couple also killed Madhavdas’s mother and sister-in-law.
The victims’ deaths were allegedly made to look like illness or other causes.
One body was reportedly hidden in a cement-filled drum and later buried.
Police believe property and hiding earlier crimes may have been motives, but the investigation is not finished.
Madhavdas Sadhu initially reported that his grandmother-in-law, Shantaben Vasava, had been murdered by his wife and her cousin.
Police say Madhavdas later admitted that he and his wife, Urmila, killed Shantaben in October 2022.
The couple allegedly killed Madhavdas’s bedridden mother, Manjulaben Sadhu, and reported that she died from paralysis.
They also allegedly strangled Madhavdas’s sister-in-law Bharti and attributed her death to tuberculosis.
Police say the killings involved property motives and efforts to conceal the deaths; further investigation is underway.
