MSEDCL senior technician Arun Suresh Gite was caught accepting ₹13,000, according to the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The technician allegedly demanded ₹15,000 to replace a faulty meter and restore a consumer’s electricity connection.
The complainant approached the Jalna Anti-Corruption Bureau after refusing to pay the initial demand.
The negotiated payment was accepted near a distribution transformer in Parli’s Jirgenagar area around 1:10 p.m. Sunday.
The tainted cash was seized, while officials simultaneously searched Gite’s rented residence in Jalalpur.
