Protesters vandalise toll plaza in Kerala
In Kerala, people are upset because a new toll booth was built too close to another one.
They say the government promised to keep toll booths far apart, but this one is only 22 kilometers from another.
So, they started protesting.
On Wednesday night, some protesters got angry and broke things at the toll booth, like glass and cameras.
The police were there, but there was still some trouble.
Now, the police are trying to find out what happened.
Protesters vandalized a newly established toll plaza on NH 66 in Kerala late Wednesday night.
The protest was against the NHAI for allegedly violating distance norms, with the toll plaza being only 22 km from the Talapadi plaza.
The incident occurred after a failed mediation talk involving NHAI officials, local MLAs, and the District Collector.
Protesters smashed glass panels and damaged CCTV cameras, leading to a brief traffic snarl on the highway.
The Kumbla Police are investigating the case.
