MCD Regularises Services of 296 Daily-Wage Sanitation Workers

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi made 296 sanitation workers permanent employees.

These workers had been working for the city for many years.

They had originally been paid daily wages.

The workers were divided into two groups based on when they worked.

One group of 160 workers received regularisation from 2006.

Another group of 136 workers received it from 2008.

City officials said sanitation workers help keep Delhi clean.

They also said the decision was made after recommendations from committees and officers.
