Mumbai: Koliwadas to be Included in Development Plan Within 60 Days
The government is making sure that areas called Koliwadas, where local fishermen live, are officially marked on the city's plans.
Minister Ashish Shelar has told officials to include these areas in the city's Development Plan within two months.
This is important because it helps protect the rights of the Koli community and allows them to make repairs to their homes.
Out of 29 Koliwadas, 23 have already been marked, and the remaining are now a priority.
This move is also seen as part of the government's preparations for upcoming elections in Mumbai.
Ashish Shelar directed that all demarcated Koliwadas be marked in Mumbai's Development Plan within 60 days.
The decision was announced after a meeting regarding the demarcation of Koliwadas and Gaothans.
