Gujarat's Century-Old Rail Link Upgraded to Broad Gauge
Imagine a train track that's been around for over 100 years, like an old road that was used a long time ago.
This track in Gujarat, India, used to have trains that were a bit small.
Now, they've changed it to a bigger track so that bigger, faster trains can use it!
This is like making the road wider.
These new trains will help people get to bigger cities easier and also help move goods.
The old train cost just Rs 5, now it's Rs 20.
This change is good for the economy and makes it easier for people to travel and work.
The metre-gauge lines in Gujarat have been converted to broad gauge.
The Kalol-Kadi-Katosan and Becharaji-Ranuj routes were inaugurated on August 25.
These lines were part of the railway network of the princely state of Baroda.
Gauge conversion is intended to improve freight transport and connect to major cities.
New electric trains now run on the Katosan Road-Kadi-Kalol-Sabarmati route.
