Medical Team Inspects Gonda College After Viral Rat Video
A video showing rats running freely in a hospital in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, went viral on the internet.
This made the government very concerned, so they sent a team of medical experts to check the hospital.
The team looked at how clean the hospital was and how well the patients were being taken care of.
The government also suspended the staff working in the ward where the rats were seen.
The hospital has started new rules, like moving some services to a new building and allowing only one person to stay with each patient.
Even before the investigation into the rat incident was finished, another video showed dogs sitting on a patient's bed, but it's not clear if this happened in the same hospital.
A viral video showed rats moving freely in the orthopaedics ward of Gonda medical college.
A medical education team inspected the college on January 18, 2024, following the incident.
The entire staff of the affected ward was suspended with immediate effect.
OPD services will be shifted to a newly constructed multi-storey building starting January 19.
The college implemented a 'one patient, one attendant' system and fixed visiting hours for attendants.
