Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi Advance Green Hydrogen Partnership

Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi Advance Green Hydrogen Partnership

Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan want to work together on cleaner energy.

Uttar Pradesh has many people, businesses and sunny areas that can produce renewable power.

Yamanashi has experience making and storing green hydrogen.

Green hydrogen can be made using extra electricity from solar panels instead of letting that electricity go to waste.

It can later power factories, buses, vehicles and heating systems.

Uttar Pradesh hopes to produce 1 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen each year by 2028.

The partnership may also bring Japanese investment, technology and industrial projects to the state.

Students could receive training in hydrogen technology, robotics and advanced manufacturing.

Cleaner buses and electric-vehicle charging systems could also help reduce pollution in cities such as Noida.
