Face Changes Are Not Reliable Signs Of A Heart Attack

Face Changes Are Not Reliable Signs Of A Heart Attack

A heart attack happens when blood cannot reach part of the heart muscle.

A person’s face might look pale, sweaty or bluish, but these changes do not prove that a heart attack is happening.

The most important warning signs can include chest pressure, trouble breathing, sweating, nausea, dizziness or sudden weakness.

Pain or discomfort may spread to the arm, back, neck or jaw.

Some people, especially those with longstanding diabetes, may not feel typical chest pain.

They might instead feel unusually tired, breathless, uneasy or have indigestion.

New symptoms during exercise or other activity should not simply be blamed on gas or acidity.

Doctors use an examination, an ECG and blood tests to check for a heart attack.

Anyone with sudden, persistent or unusual symptoms should seek medical help quickly.
