Madhya Pradesh Sets New Power Demand Record
Madhya Pradesh, a state in India, just set a new record for the most electricity it has ever used at one time.
This happened on December 9 at 10:50 AM, when the state needed 18,971 megawatts (MW) of power.
That's like turning on 18,971 million light bulbs all at once!
The state's power system worked really well, with no big problems.
The electricity came from different places, like big power plants, dams, and even wind and solar energy.
The leaders of the state are very happy and proud of the people who work to make sure everyone has electricity.
They said this shows that the state's power system is strong and can handle lots of electricity.
The power was sent to different parts of the state, with the most going to the western region.
This is a big deal because it means the state can keep up with more people and businesses using electricity.
Madhya Pradesh recorded a peak power demand of 18,971 MW on December 9, surpassing the previous record of 18,913 MW.
The power system, including generation, transmission, and substations, functioned smoothly without major disruptions.
Energy minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar praised the state's power sector workforce for their dedication and technical expertise.
Power distribution was as follows: 5,925 MW to the Central Region, 5,057 MW to the Eastern Region, 7,560 MW to the Western Region, and 429 MW to other categories.
The power supply breakdown by source was: 3,872 MW from thermal power, 387 MW from hydropower, 1,792 MW from renewable energy, and 12,920 MW from other sources including NTPC.
