Odisha Governor urges youth to build climate-resilient future
The governor of a state in India called Odisha talked to young people at a university.
He told them he wants them to help protect the planet.
He said they should turn waste into useful things and use clean energy.
He wants them to grow food in ways that are good for nature.
He told them the weather is changing and causing storms, floods, and very hot days.
He said young people should not just wait for adults to fix things.
He wants them to be the ones who build a safe future.
He gave examples of kids planting trees and helping beaches stay clean.
He asked everyone in every part of the state to help by the year 2030.
He said taking care of the earth is also taking care of each other.
Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati called on young people to lead green entrepreneurship and climate resilience efforts.
Speaking at a private university in Khordha, he said Odisha needs youth to build its future, not merely inherit it.
He cited heatwaves, erratic rainfall, floods, cyclones and rising sea levels as climate threats to agriculture, nutrition and livelihoods.
He praised youth-led initiatives such as seed ball activities in Phulbani, plantation drives and Blue Flag beaches in Puri.
He urged a 'Mission 30 by 30' to mobilise climate action across every district of Odisha by 2030.
He stressed the 3 R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and Mission LiFE as ways to make sustainability a way of life.
