Banjaras Demand Government Action in Anantapur
The Banjara community in Andhra Pradesh held a big meeting to talk about the problems they face.
They said that even though there are many Banjaras in the state, they don't have anyone representing them in the government.
This means their issues are not being addressed.
They want things like better roads, recognition of their cultural events, and more jobs.
They plan to meet with the Chief Minister and other leaders to ask for these things.
Many people came to the meeting to support these demands.
The All India Banjara Seva Sangh (AIBSS) held a district-level meeting in Anantapur to address socio-economic challenges faced by the Banjara community.
Leaders highlighted the lack of political representation for the Banjara community, with no MLA, MP, or MLC.
The AIBSS adopted resolutions demanding basic amenities in tandas, BT and CC roads, and recognition of Sant Sevalal Maharaj Jayanti as a public holiday.
The community seeks financial support for annual celebrations, protection of Hathiramji Mutt lands, land pattas, housing, and support for Banjara entrepreneurs.
Over 2,000 members attended the event, and the AIBSS plans to meet with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to present their demands.
