Tata Sons Approves Conditional ₹10,000 Crore Air India Infusion

Tata Sons is the main company that owns Air India.

Its board has reportedly agreed in principle to put more than ₹10,000 crore into the airline.

However, Air India must explain how it will use the money before each investment is made.

Air India is also asking Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines for about $1.5 billion.

The money may be provided in several smaller payments.

Air India is trying to improve its planes and overall business.

But the airline and Air India Express have recently recorded very large losses.

Singapore Airlines would need to contribute its share for the proposed investment to proceed.
