Vizag Inspections Reveal Pollution Violations
In Visakhapatnam, a special team led by collector Harindra Prasad inspected many companies to check for pollution problems.
They found issues like dust escaping from uncovered piles, improper storage of materials, and inaccurate air quality monitoring.
The team told the companies to fix these problems by covering open stacks, improving roads, and cleaning regularly.
They will keep checking daily to make sure the companies follow the rules.
Some of the companies inspected include Hinduja Power, ArcelorMittal Steel, and Coromandel International.
The goal is to reduce pollution and keep the air cleaner.
A special task force committee inspected multiple government and private sector organizations in Visakhapatnam to address pollution issues.
Inspections revealed inadequate tarpaulin coverings, improper storage of materials, and inaccurate air quality monitoring systems.
Key issues were identified at companies like Coromandel, ArcelorMittal Steel, and Vedanta Cargo, including uncovered gypsum piles and dust generation.
Industries were instructed to improve internal roads, cover open stacks, and perform regular sweeping and sprinkling to control dust.
The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) will continuously monitor industries daily and issue notices for non-compliance.
