India's IPO Proceeds Hit Record ₹1.77 Lakh Crore In 2025
India's companies have raised a record amount of money through IPOs in 2025, reaching ₹1.77 lakh crore.
This is a bit more than what was raised in 2024.
Many companies are hurrying to get their IPOs done before the year ends, including a big one by ICICI Prudential Asset Management Co.
that could raise $1.2 billion.
Even though some companies are trading below their IPO prices, there's still a lot of interest from both local and foreign investors.
The government's financial watchdog, SEBI, has suggested some changes to make the IPO process easier.
The economy is also doing well, with more people buying things and factories making more products.
India's IPO proceeds reached a record ₹1.77 lakh crore ($19.6 billion) in 2025, slightly higher than the ₹1.73 lakh crore raised in 2024.
Five more IPOs are scheduled to close by December 16, 2025, including ICICI Prudential Asset Management Co.'s $1.2 billion deal.
The surge in IPO activity reflects a maturing capital market with increasing retail and institutional investor demand.
Almost half of the over 300 firms listed in 2025 are trading below their offer price.
SEBI proposed reforms to address challenges around locking in pre-IPO pledged shares and simplifying public issue disclosures.
