Mumbai Faces Duplicate Voter Enrolment Issue
The State Election Commission in Mumbai found that many people have their names listed more than once in the voter list.
This means nearly 10.64% of all voters in Mumbai have duplicate entries.
The city has about 1.03 crore voters, and around 4.33 lakh of them have their names repeated from two times to 103 times.
The government is now checking each home to remove these extra names.
Some areas with the most duplicate voters had leaders from opposition parties.
The opposition says there are many mistakes in the voter list and the election commission is not being fair.
The civic elections might be delayed because of this issue.
Meanwhile, political parties are preparing for the elections, with some focusing on Marathi identity and others on Hindu identity.
SEC data reveals 4.33 lakh voters in Mumbai have duplicate enrolments, totaling 11,01,505 duplicate entries.
Nearly 10.64% of Mumbai's 1.03 crore voters have duplicate enrolments.
BMC is conducting a door-to-door drive to remove duplicate names from November 27 to December 5.

Opposition parties allege irregularities in the voter list and criticize the Election Commission's handling.
