Mumbai Plans Bridge To Cut Madh Island Commute Times

Mumbai Plans Bridge To Cut Madh Island Commute Times

Madh Island and Versova in Mumbai are separated by Malad Creek.

People currently have to take a long road route between them.

That trip can take 60 to 90 minutes because of the detour and traffic.

A new bridge could reduce the journey to about 10 minutes.

The bridge would be about 2.06 kilometres long and have four lanes.

It would also include paths for people walking and cycling.

A boat service already connects the areas, but it does not run during the monsoon.

Construction could begin after the monsoon if the required clearance is received, with completion targeted for 2029.
