ESIC Ordered to Pay 90% Wage Pension to Widows
The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has been told by a court to give money to the families of two workers who died on the job.
The families will get 90% of what the workers earned every month, plus extra money for waiting and being sad.
The ESIC had earlier said the deaths were not because of work, but the court said they were.
The widows are happy because now they can take care of their children and live without asking others for help.
ESIC ordered to pay 90% of deceased workers' wages as monthly dependent pension.
Interest of 9% to be paid within 30 days, or 12% if delayed.
Additional compensation of Rs 35,000 each for mental agony and harassment.
Cases involve Ram Singh (A & M Technologies) and Hari Shankar (Swani Rubber Industries).
