GE Engine Delivery Delay Impacts Tejas Mk-1A Production
Imagine India is building new fighter jets called Tejas Mk-1A.
These jets need special engines from a company called GE.
GE promised to send two engines every month starting in August.
But in August, no engines arrived!
This is a problem because it slows down the building of the jets.
Now, GE says they'll send extra engines in October to catch up.
India also wants more of these jets, so getting the engines is very important to keep the Air Force happy.
GE is also making a more powerful engine for a newer version of the jet and a possible joint production.
GE did not deliver any F404-IN20 engines to HAL in August.
GE had committed to delivering two engines per month.
The delay has slowed down Tejas Mk-1A assembly.
GE plans to deliver 3-5 engines in October to compensate for the missed delivery.
HAL is expected to ask GE to increase production.
