Parveen Hooda Returns to Asian Games Seeking Redemption

Parveen Hooda Returns to Asian Games Seeking Redemption

Parveen Hooda is an Indian boxer returning to the Asian Games.

She previously won a bronze medal at the Hangzhou Games.

She also earned an Olympic place for India at that event.

Those achievements were taken away after she received a suspension for missing three whereabouts checks.

When she returned, she could no longer box in her old 57kg category.

She tried 60kg, then moved to 65kg after an injury and team-selection changes.

Her first major competition at 65kg was the Commonwealth Games, where she lost in the quarterfinals.

She says she has worked on her weaknesses and now feels stronger.

Her goal is to win another Asian Games medal and address what she calls unfinished business.
