Pakistan's Nobel Hope for Trump Meets Pillay's Joke

Pakistan's Nobel Hope for Trump Meets Pillay's Joke

Pakistan's leader said he hoped Donald Trump would win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Pakistan has said it nominated him.

The Nobel Committee instead chose Navi Pillay, a South African jurist, for her work promoting peace and international law.

Pillay joked that she might share the prize with Trump if people clapped more.

The committee says a Nobel prize cannot be transferred or shared after it is awarded.

Pakistan says Trump helped India and Pakistan agree to a ceasefire in 2025.

India says the two countries reached the agreement without help from another country.

The committee said it considered 287 candidates for this year's prize.
