UPI Transactions to Face Restrictions from August Under New Guidelines
NPCI is changing how UPI apps work to make them more reliable.
Starting in July 2025, users might have limits on how often they can check their balance or see transaction details.
This is to prevent the system from getting overloaded, especially during busy times.
For example, you might only be able to check your balance a certain number of times per app each day.
Banks will send balance updates after each successful transaction to keep you informed.
Recurring payments will happen outside of peak hours.
The goal is to ensure UPI works smoothly for everyone.
Some people might find these changes a bit inconvenient, but they are needed to keep the system stable.
NPCI is implementing new API guidelines to regulate UPI usage.
Starting July 31, 2025, users will face limits on non-financial actions.
Balance enquiry API usage will be restricted to 50 requests per app per customer per day.
Autopay mandates will be executed only during non-peak hours.
These changes aim to improve the reliability of UPI services.
