Pune Land Deal Scam: Police Question Suspended Tehsildar
The police in Pune are investigating a controversial land deal involving a firm linked to Parth Pawar, the son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
They questioned a suspended tehsildar and a power of attorney holder about the sale of 40 acres of government land for Rs 300 crore.
The firm was allegedly exempted from paying Rs 21 crore in stamp duty.
The Bombay High Court questioned why Parth Pawar was not named in the FIR, suggesting he might be protected.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured that the government is not protecting anyone and action will be taken against the guilty.
