Sickle attack kills three girls in West Bengal's Murshidabad

In a village in West Bengal, India, a 20-year-old man hurt four young girls with a sharp tool called a sickle.

Sadly, three of the girls died, and one was injured.

The girls were between 4 and 12 years old.

According to police, the man had taken his young niece into a room.

When her three friends looked in through the door, he attacked them.

Family members and neighbours heard the girls screaming and rushed to help.

They took the girls to a hospital called Mahesail Hospital.

The man, Golam Sarwar, later gave himself up and was arrested by police.

Police found medicine in his room.

His father said he had been receiving psychiatric treatment for a long time.
