Bhopal Residents Lose Over Rs 15 Crore To Cyber Fraud

Some bad people called cyber fraudsters trick people on the internet and phones to steal their money.

In the city of Bhopal in India, people lost more than 15 crore rupees in the last seven months.

That is a very large amount of money.

The police registered about 265 complaints about these tricks.

They also received 279 reports from the state cyber crime office.

Older people are the easiest targets because fraudsters pretend to update their pension or say their electricity will be cut off.

Some fraudsters promise fake money-making schemes or pretend to be from banks for KYC updates.

Now people can complain by calling 1930 or using the national cyber crime website without visiting the police station.

This is called an e-Zero FIR, which gives victims a complaint number right away.

The police say almost every second smartphone user is being targeted and they are teaching people to stay safe.
