Hat Trick Productions Expands into Live Comedy
Hat Trick Productions, known for shows like Derry Girls, is starting a new part of their company that focuses on live comedy.
They are teaming up with Queenie Miller and Chump’s Comedy to launch this new venture at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Some of the shows they will be presenting include Freya Parker: An Hour of Decay!, Ada & Bron: The Origin of Love, and the play Amnesia by Kimberley Hart-Simpson.
The founder of Hat Trick, Jimmy Mulville, said they want to produce comedy in different places like TV, YouTube, and theaters.
They recently hired Jon Petrie, who used to be in charge of comedy at the BBC.
However, some people, like Jon Thoday from Avalon, are not happy about the Edinburgh TV Festival moving to Greater Manchester in 2027, saying it will break the special connection between the Fringe and the Festival.
