CID Questions Prakash Raj in Online Betting App Promotion Case

Police in Telangana are questioning famous actors because they might have advertised apps for online betting, which is illegal in India.

Actor Prakash Raj was questioned recently, a day after another actor, Vijay Deverakonda, was also questioned.

The police want to know if the actors were paid to promote these apps and how they were contacted.

Prakash Raj told the police that he promoted an app a long time ago, in 2016, and that he stopped doing so because he realized these apps were illegal and could trick young people.

The police are also looking into money transfers related to these promotions.

Other actors, like Rana Daggubati, might also be called in for questioning.

The police have also raided places connected to these betting apps and found that people from abroad are running them, using unemployed youth in India to operate them.
