IIT Delhi Removes B.Tech CGPA Requirement, Expands Student Support

IIT Delhi says students no longer need to meet a minimum CGPA to receive a B.Tech degree.

This change applies from the 2024-25 academic year.

The institute has also changed some courses to reduce pressure on students.

For example, first-semester students have fewer credits and can take life-skills courses.

Students can get mental-health help from counsellors and psychiatrists at any time.

The institute says it will pay back the full cost of outside mental-health treatment.

Buddy programmes help undergraduate, postgraduate and international students support one another.

Extra tutoring, faculty meetings and complaint systems are also available.

IIT Delhi says these steps are meant to make campus life safer, more flexible and more supportive.
