Facebook Launches Passkeys for Password-Free Mobile Login
Facebook is letting you log into your account with something called a passkey, which is like using your fingerprint or face to unlock your phone.
Instead of a password, you use your phone's security features.
This is a safer way to login because it's harder for people to steal your information.
This new feature is on Facebook's mobile app now and will soon come to Messenger.
It also might be used to keep chats and payments safer.
Facebook is introducing passkey support for its mobile app on Android and iOS.
Passkeys allow users to log in using biometrics or device-level authentication.
The system uses cryptographic keys stored locally on the device.
Passkey support is currently limited to the Facebook mobile app, with Messenger support coming soon.
Meta plans to extend passkeys to encrypted chats and Meta Pay.
