Doval Arrives in Beijing for Boundary Talks Amid Tensions

India and China are holding another meeting about their disputed border.

India’s Ajit Doval and China’s Wang Yi will lead the talks in Beijing.

This is the 25th meeting under a special boundary-talks process.

They will discuss the border, their relationship, and other world and regional issues.

The meeting follows reports of Chinese military activity near Arunachal Pradesh.

A report also said patrol groups met near Taksing and that Chinese personnel later put up temporary tents.

India says the border must remain peaceful before relations can improve.

China says the border is generally stable and supports continued communication.

The meeting happens before the BRICS summit and amid uncertainty about whether Xi Jinping will visit India.
