Karnataka High Court Told 2,500 Bengaluru East PGs Illegal

Officials inspected 5,000 paying guest homes in Bengaluru East.

They told the court that half of them were not following required rules.

The officials said these homes lacked one or more permissions.

These included licences, approved building plans, or fire safety clearances.

The Greater Bengaluru Authority is sending notices to the owners.

It also asked courts to hear its side before giving owners temporary orders.

The inspections took place in five areas, including Whitefield and Indiranagar.

These areas have many technology and multinational companies.
