Delhi Expands to 13 Districts for Better Governance
The Delhi government has decided to change the way the city is divided into districts.
Instead of 11 districts, there will now be 13.
This change is meant to make things easier for people who live in Delhi.
Before, different parts of the city had different rules and offices for things like property papers and other services.
This often caused confusion and delays.
With the new plan, each district will have its own offices for these services, and everything will be in one place.
The government hopes this will make life simpler and faster for everyone in Delhi.
They have also set a deadline to make sure this change happens quickly and smoothly.
Delhi Cabinet approved the expansion of the city's revenue districts from 11 to 13.
The new structure aims to align revenue boundaries with MCD zones, NDMC, and the Delhi Cantonment Board.
The number of subdivisions increased from 33 to 39, and Sub-Registrar Offices from 22 to 39.
Each district will have a Mini Secretariat for streamlined services.
Full implementation of the new administrative map is planned by December 2025.
