Government employees can now take up to a month of paid time off each year to help look after their elderly parents.
This is part of the rules for government workers called the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules.
Employees already have different kinds of leave they can use, like for illness or for personal reasons.
The new information from the government just clarifies that they can also use the leave to care for their parents.
