Out-of-Constituency Beneficiaries Face Removal From Indiramma Housing Scheme

Out-of-Constituency Beneficiaries Face Removal From Indiramma Housing Scheme

The government is giving money to poor families to build houses through the Indiramma Housing scheme.

The housing minister said people must live in the constituencies where their houses are approved.

Families living somewhere else may lose their place in the scheme.

Officials are checking every selected family by visiting homes.

This is meant to make sure the right people receive the benefit.

The government says houses should be close to people’s jobs and livelihoods.

Each eligible family currently receives Rs 5 lakh for construction.

The government plans to build nearly eight lakh houses and may help more families in later phases.
