Metro Fault Disrupts First GIFT City Service; Two Staff Suspended

Metro Fault Disrupts First GIFT City Service; Two Staff Suspended

An empty metro train had a technical problem near GIFT City station on Friday morning.

This happened before passenger services began.

The first train carrying passengers toward GIFT City could not reach its destination and stopped at PDEU station instead.

The passengers were taken to GIFT City by bus.

The metro company repaired the faulty train and restored service.

It suspended two staff members while an inquiry takes place.

A three-member committee will investigate what happened.

GMRC said all metro services were running on time by the time of its statement.
