Delhi explores ways to keep stray cattle off roads

Cows sometimes wander onto the roads in Delhi, India's capital city.

This can block traffic and even cause accidents.

The city government is now working on a plan to help keep these cows safe and off the roads.

A lawmaker named Shyam Sharma talked about the problem during a special meeting of the Delhi Assembly.

He wants the city to find out who owns the cows and move them to safer places.

He also suggested building special shelters for cows.

The city has found three pieces of land where it can set up facilities to help, in areas called Kirari, Ghogha, and Bhalswa.

The city's municipal corporation has also teamed up with a dairy board to build plants that process cow waste.

Earlier this year, the Chief Minister of Delhi announced money to help cows and build modern cow shelters.

A final plan has not been decided yet, and more meetings are coming soon to talk about it.
