Axed Teachers Allowed in Counselling by High Court
Some teachers lost their jobs after a court case about how they were hired.
The court has now said these teachers can still try to get jobs teaching younger kids (grades 6-8).
They had already passed the tests to teach these younger kids before they got the older kids' jobs.
The teachers weren't able to try for these younger kid jobs earlier because of a big court case.
Now, they can go to the next meetings to try and get jobs before the group that decides who gets hired is done working on September 25.
The High Court ordered that axed teachers can participate in upper primary level counselling.
These teachers had qualified for both secondary/higher secondary and upper primary teaching positions.
They did not initially participate in upper primary counselling due to a Supreme Court case.
The Supreme Court terminated all appointments from the 2016 selection process.
The court granted the terminated teachers' appeal to join the ongoing counselling.
