Telangana Registers Nearly A Third Of Waqf Properties

Imagine Telangana has many special properties like old mosques and burial grounds that belong to a religious group called Waqf.

These properties are managed by different people.

The government wants to keep a good record of all these properties, so they created a special online list called the Umeed portal.

So far, over 10,000 of these properties have been officially put on this list, which is the second-highest number in the country!

The government is also asking the people who manage these places to register them too.

If they register, they can get help if someone tries to take their property or if there's a disagreement.

But, the government also says that the managers have to make sure all the information they give is correct, because they are responsible if there are mistakes.

They are trying to get more time to finish all the registrations.
