Mumbai Sees Surge in Malaria and Chikungunya Cases
Imagine Mumbai is a playground, and sometimes, little bugs cause problems.
This year, more kids got sick with malaria and chikungunya, like the flu.
But, fewer kids got dengue and tummy aches compared to last year!
The people in charge are trying to make the playground safe by cleaning up water where bugs can live and checking if anyone is sick.
It's important to keep the playground clean so everyone can stay healthy.
Malaria and chikungunya cases have increased in Mumbai compared to the previous year.
Dengue cases are down overall, despite a small increase in August.
Gastroenteritis cases have decreased, while Hepatitis cases have slightly increased.
COVID-19 cases continue to decline in the city.
The BMC has implemented preventive measures such as surveys and vector-control campaigns.
