Delhi High Court Defers Khalid, Imam Bail Hearing Until September

Delhi High Court Defers Khalid, Imam Bail Hearing Until September

Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam are asking a court to release them on bail.

Their case is connected to the 2020 North East Delhi riots.

The case uses a national security law called the UAPA.

The Delhi High Court was supposed to consider their requests.

The hearing was postponed because the government’s senior lawyer, S.V. Raju, was unavailable.

The court will now hear the bail pleas on 30 September 2026.

A trial court had earlier refused their bail requests.

The court also set 4 November 2026 for Tahir Hussain’s bail appeal.
