Digital Life Certificate Campaign 4.0: Streamlining Pensioner Verification Nationwide
This year, the government is making it easier for people who get a pension to prove they are still alive so they can keep receiving their money.
There's a special campaign called Campaign 4.0 happening all over India until November 30.
They are using a system called Jeevan Pramaan, which started in 2014.
This system lets pensioners use their face or fingerprints, like unlocking a phone, to prove they are alive.
This is much easier than having to go to a bank or office in person, especially for older people.
The government has set up many special places, called camps, and even train people at India Post and banks to help.
They are also using new technology to make sure everyone, even those who are very old or live far away, can get their 'life certificate' easily.
If you prefer, you can still give your certificate in person at a bank or post office.
This whole process is designed to be kind to older citizens and make sure they don't miss out on their pensions.
The annual deadline for pensioners to submit their life certificates is November 30, with Campaign 4.0 intensifying efforts to facilitate this.
Pensioners can submit life certificates digitally using Aadhaar-based biometric or facial recognition through the Jeevan Pramaan system, or via traditional offline methods.
Nearly 2,000 districts are covered by the campaign, with approximately 2,500 camps set up and participation from banks, post offices, and government offices.
India Post is leveraging its extensive network to offer doorstep verification services, while banks like SBI are organizing mega camps using face authentication technology.
Super Senior Citizens aged 80 and above could submit certificates from October 1, while others began on November 1, with the final deadline for all being November 30.
