Ramayapatnam Port Phase I Set for 2026
Ramayapatnam Port is almost ready for its first phase to start working in 2026.
It's being built by the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board and will help industries grow in the area.
The port is big and can handle a lot of cargo.
Many things are already built, like two berths and parts of roads and railways.
The government is also building a jetty for fishermen.
Many companies are interested in setting up warehouses and factories near the port.
This will make the area a big place for moving goods in and out of the country.
The port will help farmers and industries like granite and aquaculture.
Ramayapatnam Port's Phase I is set for commissioning in the first half of 2026, with over three-fourths of the work completed by November 2025.
The port, developed by the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board, aims to boost industrial growth in Prakasam and Nellore districts.
The ₹4,922 crore project includes four multipurpose berths in Phase I and 19 additional berths planned for Phase II, with a total cargo capacity of 138 million tonnes per annum.
Key infrastructure like two berths, breakwaters, and parts of the NH-16 link road and railway line are already completed or nearing completion.
The port is attracting significant private investment, including a ₹1,300 crore commitment from a leading warehousing firm, and is expected to become a major logistics hub.
